BIOGRAPHY OF MARIE & AARON GREENWALD
Marie Greenwald was born in Leicester, England on May 20, 1943, the youngest of three children. She immigrated to the United States in 1962 and settled in the Boston area with her mother and older sister who had preceded her. As a stewardess for then Northeast Airlines, she met Dr. Aaron Greenwald while working a flight from Portland, Maine, to New York City on Dec. 5, 1971. Following a 26 week courtship, they married in Bangor, Maine on August 31, 1972. Dr. Greenwald was born in The Bronx, New York, on November 13, 1927. Following a BA degree from Syracuse University in January, 1950, he took an MS in physiology at The Ohio State University in 1953 and a DDS at New York University College of Dentistry in 1957. He married and practiced general dentistry in Manhattan until 1972, when, following a divorce, he moved to Bangor, Maine, married Marie there, and limited his practice to root canal therapy or endodontics until January 1, 1980. He opened Bangor Dentalcare, Maine’s first advertised general dental center on January 2, 1980. The Greenwalds have two sons, David, born in 1974 and Martin, born in 1976. Dr. Greenwald is a skier and tennis player and avid model builder; from model railroading to airplane and ship models. Forced to leave Maine in 1985, the Greenwalds moved to Cohasset, Massachusetts, and following seven additional moves in 13 years, now reside in Plymouth, Massachusetts. |

Kenneth
Westhues Professor of Sociology University of Waterloo - Dr.
Greenwald: I opened your book, could scarcely put it down, and ended up
spending almost an entire day reading it, so that I failed to meet that
day's other commitments. Dr. G. Gould NYC - “The Maine Conspiracy” by Dr. Aaron and Marie Greenwald is a heart rending tale of the miscarriage of justice in Maine. All is not well in the body politic when a small but forceful group can band together and successfully conspire to prevent low cost healthcare in a large community. Even one in a small state such as Maine. As in most conspiracies, there is considerable collateral damage. In this case, the innocent Greenwalds and two small children. And all the low income people of central Maine, who, because of the loss of Dr. Greenwald’s Bangor Dentalcare, were forced to revert to high priced, “when in doubt, (teeth) whip it out” dentists. As a retired professional who has read thousands of books, I found “The Maine Conspiracy” riveting, entertaining, and provocative. J. Schoolman LA. - If you enjoy reading David and Goliath stories, you must include in your repertoire, at least one inverted version. “The Maine Conspiracy” is a sad tale of a family fighting a state-wide cabal, but never giving up, despite unbelievable odds. Though legally and financially defeated, Dr. Greenwald was resourceful enough to continue practicing his profession, albeit illegally, and provide for his family. By writing what happened to them, thereby exposing it to the world, the Greenwalds have, indeed, emotionally won their battle. They are to be congratulated. When you finish reading this book, you too, will congratulate Dr. Aaron and Marie Greenwald, the authors and victims of another horrible example of sham peer review. Dr. F. Harris Palm Beach, FL. - As a former patient of Dr. Greenwald and his Bangor Dentalcare, I have only the greatest respect for him and what he tried to do in Maine: bring lost cost healthcare to a low income population. The people of central Maine desperately needed and appreciated his efforts. The establishment and a few greedy named dentists, along with the malicious, co-conspirator government officials, also named by Dr. Greenwald, succeeded in depriving their constituents of low cost healthcare for 18 years. Now, thanks to federal and state funding with taxpayers’ money, the indigent and low income former patients of Bangor Dentalcare may once again avail themselves of proper healthcare. What a price and punishment the Greenwalds paid and suffered with for their good deeds. “The Maine Conspiracy” should be read by all, it should be in every library and used as a teaching tool in every professional school. I. P Portland, ME. - Although probably not a literary classic, it has the sense of awesome power. It is so well written, so vivid with clear images, so descriptive, so detailed and so graphic. The reader, if he/she has any compassion at all, should realize the relentless stampede that you and your family have coped with . It probably would have been easier for you to have been run over by a truck! You and your family are to be admired; I can't imagine surviving what you have gone through.
